We are seeking an Agentic Systems Engineer with expertise in AI-driven workflow automation to support scientific research and development. This role focuses on designing and implementing agentic AI systems that integrate large language models (LLMs), simulations, and laboratory platforms to enable closed-loop experimentation and accelerate discovery. The position requires strong skills in workflow orchestration, data pipelines, and AI integration, alongside close collaboration with scientists and engineers to translate domain knowledge into computational processes.

● Design and implement agentic AI workflows to support end-to-end R&D cycles, from

experimental design (DOE) through data analysis and result interpretation.

● Integrate LLMs with scientific tools, simulations, and laboratory systems to enable closed-loop

experiment automation.

● Develop pipelines for data ingestion, preprocessing, analysis, and AI-driven decision-making to

drive project convergence.

● Identify workflow gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.

● Collaborate with scientists and engineers to embed domain expertise into AI-assisted workflows.

● Implement workflow orchestration using modern tools (e.g., LangChain, Ray, Prefect, Airflow, or

similar).

● Stay current with emerging methods in agentic AI, scientific automation, and autonomous

research systems.

● Document workflow designs, decision logic, and system integrations to support transparency

and reproducibility.

Requirements

● Bachelor’s, Master’s in Computer Science, AI/ML, Computational Science, Engineering, or a

related field (or equivalent practical experience).

● Exposure to life sciences, physical sciences, or engineering research environments is a strong

plus.

● Proficiency in Python and experience building AI/ML-enabled workflows.

● Experience with large language models (LLMs) and tool integration frameworks (e.g., LangChain,

Hugging Face, OpenAI function calling, or similar).

● Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration or pipeline tools (e.g., Prefect, Airflow).

● Familiarity with integrating simulations, laboratory information systems (LIMS), or experimental

platforms into computational pipelines.

● Knowledge of API integration, microservices, and modular workflow design.

● Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or HPC systems for scalable workflow

execution.

Research & Problem-Solving

● Ability to design agentic systems that combine AI reasoning with external tools and data sources.

● Strong problem-solving skills in identifying bottlenecks and optimizing workflows for efficiency

and accuracy.

● Experience working at the intersection of AI and scientific research is highly desirable.

Collaboration & Communication

● Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills to work with scientists, engineers, and AI specialists.

● Excellent documentation and communication skills for capturing workflow designs, assumptions,

and results.
