ING is looking for an excellent DevOps Engineer for our Financial Markets area with technical & people skills. The team is responsible for the platform of multiple financial market applications. You’ll be joining a team within Wholesale Banking Tech – Financial Markets. Our team is a part of the Competitive Services IT area of ING. We are responsible for development and maintenance of several systems of Financial Markets and Global Treasury. We operate according to a DevOps development process and strongly believe in the Agile approach to delivering IT solutions. The focus is on high-quality mission-critical target oriented development with regular milestones. We are an open minded squad that values trust and transparency above all.

Qualifications
Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering related courses

Role & responsibilities
As a DevOps engineer, you will be responsible for shaping the technical vision of the team with the other developers and Chapter lead and you will enable team to follow that vision. We operate according to an Agile Scrum development process and strongly believe in the DevOps approach to delivering IT solutions. Our focus is on high-quality software delivered continuously using iterative development. In this way of working, we maximize the customers satisfaction/impact and have a great feedback loop.

What technology expertise are we looking for?
Should have:
•    Bachelor of Science in Software engineering or an equivalent field.
•    5+ years of experience in relevant field
•    Experience in IT operational support. (ITIL)
•    Sufficient organizational and administrational skills. Documentation, planning, etc.
•    Good knowledge in RHEL 8/9 and container platform preferably OpenShift
•    Experience with Bash and Python.
•    Good knowledge of at least one modern relational database. This combined with either knowledge of or interest in learning the Relational (preferably oracle) database, which we rely on. (DDL , DML)
•    DevOps/scrum or Agile experience.
•    Experience with continuous delivery and deployment tools (preferably Azure DevOps)
•    Knowledge in setting up Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
•    Automating maintenance and support activities.
•    Experience and knowledge in setting up monitoring and alerting
•    Experience designing and maintaining automated tests (API, functional, and regression).
•    Hands-on experience with Python-based test frameworks or enterprise/internal test automation tools.
•    Ability to automate API validations and data-driven scenarios (JSON/XML).
•    Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (preferably Azure DevOps).
•    Knowledge of test design techniques and writing maintainable, reusable test scripts.
•    Familiarity with validating logs, monitoring, and alert behavior as part of test coverage.

Nice to have:
•    Financial markets knowledge or certifications
•    Experience in handling IT security risk activities
