indie is empowering the automotive revolution with next generation automotive semiconductors and software platforms. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.
indie is looking for a Software Engineer to develop software modules for our camera System-on-Chip (SoC). The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who can work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate image sensor drivers, including control and functional safety features.
- Design and support platform peripheral drivers (e.g., SerDes, Ethernet, AUTOSAR).
- Develop embedded applications for indie’s reference camera platforms.
- Design, build, and maintain embedded applications showcasing the capabilities of indie’s camera video processor.
- Develop, test, and document software for both external and internal host CPUs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams (software, systems) to integrate system-level features into standalone demo applications.
- Work directly with customers to prototype advanced solutions.
Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of C/C++ programming experience in an RTOS environment.
- Experience with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS and SafeRTOS is a plus.
- Experience with ARM and Xtensa CPU architectures is a plus.
- Experience with Python for scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with Linux-based build systems, tools, and platform architectures.
- Understanding of software development best practices and quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge or experience in image sensor characterization.
- Functional safety and cybersecurity experience related to image sensors is a plus.
- Passion for hands-on development, including DIY projects with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar embedded platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
