Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.
Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $150,406.00 and $195,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.
Location: In this US-based position your location will be hybrid and/or remote; candidates that currently reside in Arizona will have the benefit and option to work a hybrid schedule in our headquarters office (Tempe, AZ) and/or remotely from the East Coast.
Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 5% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Sphere of Influence: Engineering Department and SDLC process'
- Facilitate goal-level creation for broader function; ensure managers cascade to team.
- Establish standard processes for system projects and assessments and maintain a comprehensive information security program. (Ex. ROI analysis, TCO, Business/Organizational impact, as well as ensure integrity and confidentiality with customer data.)
- Manage and establish periodic reviews on the technology systems performance and make recommendations for improvements of technology-related capabilities. These include infrastructure, systems, services, people, productivity, and cost.
- Responsible for three or more teams (15 - 50 people).
- Create and manage expenditures and resources within department and project budgets. As well as participating in an annual budget and business plan that will allow for the greatest ROI.
- Manage to maintain vendor and service provider relationships while addressing problems and solutions along the way.
- Manage technologies policies, processes and standards to ensure consistent operations, safeguard of systems and data, and monitor compliance. Operations include service delivery and up-to-date industry KPIs and metrics.
- Provide leadership on collaboration with internal business partners. While also advising on emerging technologies, trends and recommendations that can contribute to profitability and business growth.
- Maintain oversight of all systems implementations and Technology projects
- Oversee the negotiation and administration of vendor, outsource and consultant contracts and service agreements.
- Develop and execute a technology vision and strategic Technology plan and roadmap that supports and aligns with long-term goals and objectives.
- Direct the selection of technology solutions including project scope, cost/benefit analysis, resources and implementation timeline.
- On-Call and Incident Management response activities
- Other duties as required.
Share Your Expertise.
Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:
- 10 + years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years with a Master’s degree; or 7 years with PhD
- Experience leading multiple teams of 15+ team members.
- Experience owning 1 or more significant process area (Design Review, Incident Management, Quarterly Planning, Hiring)
- Strong, current knowledge of modern web application development technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, REST, Microservice Architecture, React, java, C#, Node et al…
- Experience with Cloud technologies, AWS preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership in executing a short/long-term strategic vision with the ability to explore and recommend technology investment with a focus on the business’s ROI.
- Direct experience in selecting, implementing and maintaining key industry technology solutions.
- Must have experience developing strategic program plans, roadmaps, and estimations, including forecasting capital investments and projects.
- Experience managing vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing PL and budgets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate the team to deliver multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Disciplined process orientation, attention to details, troubleshooting skills, and root cause analysis expertise.
- Ability to think critically and strategically and to collaborate effectively at all levels.
- Focus on fostering an environment of accountability and resolving conflict.
