Junior Backend Developer

We are now looking for a Junior Backend Developer to join our Software organization in Oulu. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their software development career who wants to learn modern backend development, cloud technologies and software engineering practices while working with experienced professionals.

What you'll do

As a Junior Backend Developer, you will work as part of a cross-functional software team and contribute to the development of iLOQ's cloud-based software platform.

You will:

• Develop, test and maintain backend services and APIs with the support of experienced colleagues

• Participate in software design, implementation and troubleshooting activities

• Learn and apply modern software development practices, including code reviews and automated testing

• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our cloud-based services

• Participate in CI/CD processes and software releases

• Work closely with Product Owners, Software Architects, Test Engineers and other stakeholders

• Explore and utilize modern development tools, including AI-assisted development tools

• Continuously develop your technical skills and grow as a software professional

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or you are close to graduation

• Programming skills using modern backend technologies

• Understanding of software development fundamentals, such as object-oriented programming and version control

• Interest in cloud technologies and modern application development including AI

• Curiosity to learn new technologies and solve technical challenges

• Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with others

• Professional written and spoken English

We consider experience in the following areas an advantage:

• Personal, school or internship projects involving backend development

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

• Experience with databases and APIs

• Understanding of software testing and DevOps practices
