About the Team: 

The Office of the CTO  sets the strategic technical direction of the company while keeping both Illumio and our customers secure. Those who join us represent the leader in Zero Trust Segmentation. Illumio's Office of the CTO Technology Exploration team is responsible for keeping Illumio competitive by exploring new technologies, building consensus within Illumio through proof of concepts and presentations.   

This is a 12 week internship program beginning on May 27th 2025 or June 23rd 2025. This internship is based in Sunnyvale, California, and will require a hybrid work schedule. Please note that we are unable to provide relocation assistance at this time.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Explore and experiment with new and emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools, some of which may be outside your current expertise. 

• Collaborate with team members to identify and select interesting, high-potential technologies to prototype. 

• Be empowered to take ownership of your own summer project where you provide technical solutions for real world problems. You will get to own the design, implementation, and quality of your work.   

• At the end of the summer, you’ll present your project to your peers and the engineering/product organizations thus leaving your mark on our company for years to come.     

Experience: 

• Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in Winter 2025/Spring 2026. 

• Strong curiosity and passion for technology—particularly those technologies you don’t yet fully understand. 

• Proficiency in at least one programming language or framework (e.g., Python, JavaScript, etc.) and the ability to quickly pick up new tools or languages as necessary. 

• Comfortable experimenting with new technologies and iterating on prototypes. 

• Ability to think creatively, pivot quickly, and tackle ambiguous problems.

Pay Range:

$ 37 USD - $ 45 USD
