ROLE: LEAD ENGINEER – QC – RESIDENTIAL SOLAR

The Big Picture
The Senior Design Engineer will implement the right processes and practices across the design operations team. The role is responsible for ensuring the quality of the company's products and services meet or exceed customer expectations by running various processes, like hiring new employees, training them in specific skill sets and procedures, and monitoring existing employees, so nothing falls through the cracks.

 What you can expect as LEAD ENGINEER – QC at Illumine-i:
1. Design Quality Assurance
  • Lead quality reviews of solar PV design packages across commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.
  • Ensure all drawings and documents comply with internal standards, regulatory codes, and client requirements.
2. Conceptual Design Verification
  • Review and validate conceptual designs for rooftop, carport, ground‑mount systems and EV charging stations.
  • Check layouts, SLDs, string sizing, schedules, and BOQs for technical accuracy.
3. Documentation & File Management
  • Maintain a robust document control system with proper versioning and traceability.
  • Ensure all technical documents are audit-ready and easily accessible.
4. Timely Quality Checks
  • Manage quality review workflows to meet project deadlines, especially during peak load periods.
  • Track and ensure adherence to quality review timelines.
5. Standardization & Compliance
  • Enforce standard templates and CAD formatting across all design outputs.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance documentation quality.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, project management, and operations teams to align on quality expectations.
  • Support quality-driven initiatives and special assignments.
7. Communication & Stakeholder Alignment
  • Communicate proactively to resolve quality issues and improve deliverables.
  • Foster collaboration and continuous improvement within teams.


Essential Qualifications include: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with the specialization in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/ Instrumentation with minimum 3-5 years of relevant Design experience
  • Strong in AutoCAD and or other cad-based software platforms
  • Attention-to-detail and excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic environment
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and resolve issues independently based on project/company standards.
 
Great to have:
  • Good exposure & knowledge in NEC & IBC codes
  •  Working knowledge in MS office
