Head of App and Web Technology

The Role

The Head of App and Web Technology will lead the vision, strategy, and execution for IHG’s most important direct digital channels, including the IHG One Rewards app and IHG’s global web ecosystem spanning brand websites and digital experiences for more than 7,000 hotels in over 20 languages. This leader will play a critical role in shaping how guests engage with IHG digitally—driving platform performance, product innovation, secure and reliable operations, and seamless guest experiences at global scale. The role will set product and technology priorities, lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams, and partner across Product, Technology, Loyalty, Brand, Commercial, Hotel Operations, and regional stakeholders to turn business strategy and guest insight into a compelling roadmap, high-quality releases, and measurable commercial impact.

Your Day-to-Day

• Set and activate a bold product and technology vision for IHG’s direct digital ecosystem, translating guest, owner, and commercial insight into 3–5 year strategic plans, annual investment priorities, and measurable value creation.
• Assist the business in product management for the app, web to drive direct revenue contribution.
• Partner with internal teams and external technology providers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing digital capabilities.
• Champion enterprise-wide product and platform initiatives across functions, aligning stakeholders, shaping priorities, and driving delivery that advances IHG’s commercial, loyalty, brand, and hotel performance goals.
• Assess emerging technology, user needs, customer touchpoints, and current-state capability gaps to identify the highest-impact product opportunities and guide future-state digital experiences across the guest journey.
• Build compelling business cases for new initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis, return on investment, portfolio rationalization, product retirement opportunities, and profitability drivers.
• Establish clear success metrics, performance standards, release schedules, annual targets, budgets, and delivery tracking to ensure product investments translate into reliable capabilities and measurable customer and commercial outcomes.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team, including recruiting talent, setting departmental goals and KPOs, coaching and succession planning, managing performance, and building senior-level relationships that secure support for the strategic direction.

What We Need from You

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work-related experience, with 12+ years of progressive experience across product marketing, product management, digital technology, and platform leadership.
• Demonstrated experience leading the architecture, development, operation, and modernization of high-volume digital platforms across multi-cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong command of cloud-native architecture, including microservices, APIs, event-driven integration, containers, serverless computing, data platforms, identity and access management, and resilient multi-region operations.
• Experience directing modern mobile and web engineering, including native iOS & Android development. Application architecture and delivery for responsive and accessible user experiences, front-end frameworks, content management platforms, API-driven architecture, experimentation, performance optimization, and search-engine optimization.
• Experience establishing engineering standards for continuous integration and delivery, automated testing, release management, observability, site reliability, incident response, disaster recovery, and technical-debt reduction.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee platform security, data privacy, payment security, regulatory compliance, responsible handling of guest and loyalty data, and enterprise integrations across loyalty, reservations, CRM, content, search, personalization, payment, and analytics platforms.
• Proven ability to translate business strategy and performance, stability, conversion, experimentation, and operational data into technical direction, architecture roadmaps, delivery plans, investment cases, and measurable platform outcomes while leading globally distributed engineering teams and technology partners.

Location – Atlanta, GA. Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.
