About the role 

You will join the Security Engineering team within IT Security, responsible for Security Architecture, Application Security, and the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) across If. 

We work closely with Enterprise Architecture, development and platform teams, our AI Centre of Excellence, and a wide range of business areas. Our ambition is to bring security into technology, product, and solution decisions early, making it a natural part of the development process. 

At the same time, we are on an exciting journey to strengthen the role of Security Architecture as a strategic partner to Enterprise Architecture, technology teams, and the business. As a Security Architect, you will have the opportunity to help shape that development. 

AI security will be an important focus area in the role, but you will also work broadly across security architecture. You will act as a trusted advisor when new solutions are designed and implemented, helping to ensure that security is considered from the very beginning. 

What are you going to do?   

• Advise and support teams across If on security architecture and secure solution design 

• Help the organization leverage AI and emerging technologies in a secure and responsible way through advisory work, security architecture, and risk assessments 

• Collaborate closely with architects, developers, platform teams, risk and privacy specialists, and business stakeholders 

• Translate security requirements, principles, and risks into practical and business-friendly recommendations 

• Contribute to Security by Design practices and the evolution of security architecture capabilities across If 

• Develop and maintain security principles, guidelines, and frameworks within areas such as AI, cloud, software development, application security, and software supply chain security 

• Influence technology and architecture decisions by providing practical security guidance and recommendations.  

• Show ability to work effectively in an English-speaking environment, ensuring clear communication with international teams and stakeholders 

What do we expect from you?   

We are looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and motivated by understanding new technologies and solving complex challenges. 

• Have experience or interest in one or more of the following areas: AI Security, Cloud Security, Application Security, DevSecOps, Software Supply Chain Security 

• Have a solid understanding of security architecture principles and how to apply them in modern technology environments 

• Can bridge the gap between security, technology, and business and communicate complex topics in a clear and practical way. 

• Enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and disciplines and are skilled at building trust and relationships. 

• Are comfortable challenging established ways of working and helping stakeholders make informed decisions. 

• Are familiar with security frameworks such as SABSA, NIST, ISO 27001, or similar 

• Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills 

• Have a growth mindset and a willingness to continuously learn and develop
