At If Insurance, we’re on a journey of bringing Agentic AI into everyday operations, scaling from first implementations to industrializing production of AI agents that support our employees and customers at scale. Our AIKA Squad, part of intelligent Automation Enabler, is responsible for developing and operating AI Agents across the organization to help automate business processes.
About the role
We are now looking for an AI Agent Developer who wants to design and build agents that think, plan, act, and deliver real value for If customers and employees. If you get excited about LLMs, autonomous workflows, enterprise-grade architectures, and turning AI into safe, reliable production systems, you will feel at home with us.
You will:
Build AI Agents capable of reasoning, planning, using tools and collaborating
Implement robust evaluation, tracing, monitoring and safety controls for enterprise-grade deployments
Integrate AI Agents into different data sources and applications
Work closely with business teams to transform use cases from ideas to production
Contribute to developing and maintaining our internal AI Agent platform

About the team
You’ll be working at the heart of If, collaborating across all If Countries, Business Areas, Tribes, and Squads, as well as with the whole IT organization.
Our international Intelligent Automation unit consists of skilled professionals across six locations: Espoo, Turku, Copenhagen, Riga, Vilnius, and Kuala Lumpur. We have already previously scaled RPA as well as Generative AI assistants across the company and are now on track with AI Agent journey. Who are you?
You don’t need to know everything, but you should have strong curiosity, engineering discipline, and experience working with modern cloud and AI stacks. We value a learning mindset over perfection.
You enjoy solving complex problems using modern AI and software engineering techniques. Pragmatic by nature, you’re able to balance innovation with safety and reliability, and you’re excited about working hands-on with AI agents in real production environments. You value collaboration, but you’re also comfortable taking ownership and driving your own work forward.
You don’t need to be an AI researcher - instead, you’re a strong engineer who loves building clever, dependable systems that make a real impact.
You have experience in:
Agent & LLM Development
Hands-on work with OpenAI / Azure OpenAI
LLM orchestration (agents, tools, function calling, routing, planners)
Familiarity with evaluation and observability tools for LLM systems
Microsoft & Cloud
Azure AI / MS Foundry
Microsoft Agent Framework (or similar agent frameworks)
Azure services: Functions, App Services, Storage, Key Vault, Event Grid, API Management
Networking, identity and access using Entra ID
Software Engineering
C# (.NET), TypeScript/React, or Python (ideally more than one)
CI/CD with Azure DevOps
Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or Bicep)
Designing reliable cloud-native applications and integrations
LLM supported development tools like GitHub Copilot
