Software Engineer, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted): Design, develop, and test next generation company cloud platform that delivers social, analytics, commerce, and governance. Align development activities with architectural strategy and business objectives. Translate business and technical requirements into new code and processes. Build applications using the Lean and Agile methodology. Work with continuous integration and automated testing strategies. Instrument cloud-based services for real time monitoring and recovery strategies. Work in server programming and application programming interface (API) development, middleware software, web user interface development and templatization, open source software exploration and integration, security vulnerability tests and resolution. Research, design and implement new technologies and apply them to emerging business concerns. Create interfaces and APIs that will be exposed to the developer’s community across the company. Design application frameworks and modules for use across multiple backend services in company cloud. Create, optimize and integrate Application Programming Interface (API) calls in company cloud business support system applications. Enhance and identify best practices with respect to cloud based services development, test, deployment and maintenance. Collaborate with product and design teams to design and implement new user-facing features. Work in a cross-functional team to prototype, design, and implement new software. Utilize: Unit and Integration Testing, Version Control, Jenkins, Structured Query Language (SQL) and Java. Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related and one (1) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Analyst or related. One (1) years of experience must include utilizing Unit and Integration Testing, Version Control, Jenkins, Structured Query Language (SQL) and Java. $199,329.96 to $235,000.00 per year. Full time.
