HUMAN was founded in 2012 in a Brooklyn sci-fi bookstore by Tamer Hassan, Michael Tiffany, Dan Kaminsky, and Ash Kalb. Our humble beginnings led to the creation of the Human Defense Platform, the backbone of all our products that safeguards enterprises from sophisticated bots, fraud, and account abuse. Today we verify the humanity of more than 20 trillion interactions per week for some of the largest companies and internet platforms.
Our hacker roots still permeate everything we do. You will be a part of the HUMAN front line in our commitment to protecting companies (and in turn, their customers) from both revenue and reputation risk caused by digital attacks. The MediaGuard team is a cross-functional team of R&D humans focused primarily on solving the set of problems faced by Ad Tech platforms, agencies and brands in ensuring the delivery of digital advertising to humans. You will be responsible for developing innovative, comprehensive and cost effective solutions that will be integrated into various parts of the Ad Tech ecosystem to analyze, explain and prevent various types of fraudulent and nonstandard activities. You will look for new ways to uncover fraud and highlight patterns of abuse that only HUMAN can deliver given our history of successfully reducing sophisticated IVT across programmatic advertising.
Who you are:
- You have experience developing products in Golang.
- You have your share of war stories about distributed architectures and their common pitfalls
- You constantly drive for correctness and performance, in that order. You are a stickler for following a thorough merge request process and leaving things better than you found them.
- You look to find new and innovative ways to solve complex problems through rigorous experimentation.
- You have an open attitude and collaborate well across team boundaries- be they the office hallway or the continental divide.
- You have been actively involved in innovating across all stages of the software development life cycle, setting objectives and clarifying outcomes for the teams you’ve worked on.
- You are proactive in identifying issues and misalignments in team tasks and customer expectations and help your team solve them
What you'll do:
- Support the development and delivery of the MediaGuard product, one of our flagship offerings that handles 1.5 trillion prediction requests a day from some of the largest internet companies on the planet
- Profile, debug, optimize and harden Linux-based software.
- Partner closely with our Platform Engineering teams to find ways to deliver unique value to our MediaGuard customers by extending and reusing common platform components.
- Collaborate with detection researchers (data scientists, malware reversers, threat analysts) to design and propose new ways to demonstrate the return on investment our customers are realizing as a result of using our software
- Participate in an agile development cycle, write clear and usable documentation, give lightning talks and mentor others
- Work with a team of uniquely talented engineers who love to learn, experiment, and push the limits of modern technology
- Participate in building a unique culture that emphasizes lean principles and optimizes for deep work, collaboration and doing the best work of your career
- Provide technical leadership on the team through coaching, mentoring, and design documentation.
The base pay range for this position is $140,000- $160,000 which can include additional on-target bonus and/or incentives. The base pay offered may vary depending on location, job related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options and other incentive pay may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position ultimately offered.
