Job Summary:

The Senior End to End RF Engineer is a critical role within the HP Hybrid Solutions (Poly) team. Working with a global design team, this position drives execution on all aspects of the RF design of new videoconferencing products over multiple projects with outsourced development partners. Central to the success of this role is the ability to drive execution at ODM vendors and interface with a multinational team to solve complex technical issues. This individual should have experience driving aggressive schedules, reviewing complex RF designs including providing technical guidance, working with vendors to resolve complex RF problems using data-driven decision-making, and experience in delivering mass-produced hardware.

Responsibilities:  

  • Develop RF specifications, supporting documentation, and test plans for each new Video product & component.

  • Analyze Chipset vendor, and/or module vendor, and/or ODM designs for compliance with specifications, ability to point out performance issues. 

  • Clearly and concisely communicate with hardware/software test activities, issues, risks, milestones & contingency plans to the program manager, and management. Highlight relevant information that requires follow-up or attention.

  • Support the Agency team to ensure all program regulatory deliverables are identified and met.

  • Provide technical and process guidance to internal and external teams. Create metrics to help track progress and facilitate predictable execution. Look for ways to refine these processes to achieve continuous improvements and reduced costs.

  • Co-work with architecture team during planning phase for RF design.

  • Manage the Platform ODMs execution of communications deliverables, test results, and ensure that any identified issues are properly tracked and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the hardware design organization.

Education and Experience Required:  

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Communication Engineering or related field of study, with a 10+ years related experience.

Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Strong RF background, both in theory and implementation. Experience and understanding of wireless communication technology and WLAN/BT are MUST.  

  • Experienced with RF related certifications.

  • Experienced with WLAN RF front end architecture and key RF performance measurements, merits.

  • Strong hardware troubleshooting capability with working knowledge of oscilloscopes, RF testing, network analyzers.

  • Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams as well as practical experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle.

  • Proven experience working with matrix engineering teams as well as external suppliers and customers.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating the work of others to meet schedule and quality requirements.

  • Ability to work with multi-tasks and provide clear and concise information to teams.

  • Good knowledge of RF regulatory and Video product architectures

  • Good knowledge of PCB layout rules and criteria for good RF design

  • Team player with good interpersonal, strong written and excellent verbal communications skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills both with internal and external contacts

  • Excellent team leadership and tactical execution skills.

  • Strong commitment and self-motivationExcellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
