Job Summary:

The Senior End to End Audio Engineer is a critical role within the HP Hybrid Solutions (Poly) team. Working with a global design team, this position drives execution on all aspects of the audio design of new videoconferencing&Webcam products over multiple projects. you will interface with the HP/Poly Program Manager and the HP/Poly Project Leads in the EE/HW area, providing direction to both on responsibilities & activities for the Audio technology area you own. Will be responsible for your technology areas on Videoconferencing & Webcam over multiple projects, while working with HP’s audio architects/engineers. You will Work, Lead & Oversee debug and qualification activities for the Audio technology components that you own; coordinate between outsourced development partners (ODM), Audio codec or other sub suppliers, and other internal teams. Central to the success of this role is the ability to drive execution at ODM vendors and interface with a multinational team to solve complex technical issues. You should have experience driving aggressive schedules, reviewing complex audio designs including providing technical guidance, working with vendors to resolve complex audio problems using data-driven decision-making, and experience in delivering mass-produced hardware.

Responsibilities:  

  • Speaker and speaker enclosure design and integration into the system

  • Microphone sub-system design and implementation.

  • Debug and root-cause analysis of development problems in the audio subsystems, some of which will be HW based and others of which will be driver based.

  • Gather audio fidelity measurements throughout the development process.

  • Performance tuning & validation review of the system speaker & mic subsystems to obtain the best optimized audio performance.

  • Knowledge on Teams/Zoom/Google/Tencent certification, general VoIP voice testing, audio conferencing quality

  • Audio Schematic and Layout reviews throughout the design process

Education and Experience Required:  

•    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electro-Acoustic.
•    Typically 10+ years experience with more than 5 years experiences in audio design

Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Ability to manage, update, modernize, & drive ownership of individual tests to the engineering test owners for the Validation Test Plan.

  • 10 + years, Experience in hardware/firmware development/testing methodologies with specific direct Audio product design and Audio experience. Audio engineering in Videoconferencing device, and/or consumer audio preferred. 

  • Experience with acoustic design and simulation.

  • Hands on experience working with board designs specifically implementation of audio subsystems and Audio architectural implementations – understand PCB layout and impedance requirements across multiple interfaces to allow both Analog & Digital Audio designs to be robust. 

  • Experience working with US Based & Overseas IC & Component suppliers; driving their teams through concept, development, & implementation phases on a devices life cycle 

  • Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, professional oral and written communication skills, and a high level of interpersonal skills. 

  • Must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work in a customer oriented, very fast-paced, and demanding environment with minimal supervision. 

  • Leadership qualities: Integrity, attention to detail, timeline sensitive, goal oriented 

  • Ability to interface with all levels within the development organization and work with diverse virtual teams located in multiple locations around the world. 

  • Occasional travel may be required to support development activities (domestic and international)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
