Firmware Engineering Program Manager – Hybrid Solutions (Poly)

Description -

We are looking for a Firmware Engineering Program Manager that applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and leads one or multiple programs involving multiple functions to drive the firmware/Enabled SW engineering development and implementation process for a product or service offering.

  • Develops and directs firmware development of schedules, associated deliverables, budget, resource allocation plan, and other support requirements for assigned program.

  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and external development partners on firmware design and development; ensures progress against established plan and makes determinations based on analysis of business information to alter or update schedule and resource allocation to meet product requirements and development schedule.

  • Communicates firmware development progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management and manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules.

  • Works closely with the SW Development teams and the external ODM to develop requirements and ensure requirements are meet during product development.

  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and quality activities in the firmware development process.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Typically 10+ years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good SW/FW development experience with embedded operating system.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experience in overall architecture of firmware and interaction with hardware/software/OS designs for products and solutions.

  • Familiarity with Source Control Tools like SVN/Git etc.

  • Familiarity with bug management tools like Jira.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Strong leadership to lead cross function team & external partner discussions.
