Within the Cloud Infrastructure team, we are ensuring that our Data Science teams have all the technology assets they need to perform their duties and that our Big Data environment is secure and has an up time of 99.99999%. As a Cloud DevOps Engineer you will contribute to the success of our team thru the development of new automation and maintenance of existing ones for which you will ensure their compliance with security policies. As well you will help maintain and deploy infrastructure elements.

What you will do

• Build and maintain services and systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

• Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines for infrastructure and application management.

• Identify and automate manual processes.

• Monitor availability and performance of services and systems and implement alerts to detect SLA breaches.

• Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage for cost efficiency, implementing serverless solutions and automated scaling where applicable.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies and backups for critical services and databases.

• Work closely with development and data science teams to ensure their applications are designed for cloud-native operations.

• Work in a geographically distributed team.

What you will need

• Bachelor’s in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field.

• 3+ years of work experience, preferably in distributed & cloud computing, software & cloud design, programming languages, agile development methodologies, or a related field.

• Strong problem-solving skills, working on problems of diverse complexity and scope.

• Proactivity in identifying opportunities for improvement and eagerness to explore new solutions, staying ahead of the curve in technology and best practices.

• Ability to work under pressure as well as in autonomous mode.

• Experience operating cloud-based infrastructure: AWS is required

• In-depth understanding of AWS services: IAM, VPC networking, S3, EC2, RDS, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail.

• Experience with container orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.

• Experience with IaC framework: Terraform.

• Proficient in Python development.

Nice to have

• Ability, if needed, to lead projects, providing direction to team activities and facilitate information validation and team decision making process.

• Experience with application lifecycle management tools: Git, GitHub Pull Requests, JIRA.

• Experience with CI/CD orchestration: GitHub Actions.

• Experience with monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus, ElasticSearch.

• Experience with could SQL & NoSQL databases be preferred.

• Experience with Linux operating system.

• Experience in deploying REST API services.

• Azure is a plus.
