Job Summary:

Role overview:
A Data Business Partner (DBP) acts as a liaison between business units and the Chief Data Office of the IT Division, enabling the use of data to inform strategic and operational decisions. Key responsibilities include translating business needs into data solutions with a focus on improving data-related processes and outcomes – including the use of AI, developing and presenting data-driven insights, collaborating with stakeholders, and promoting data literacy to foster a data-driven culture. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

Job Duties:

Key responsibilities:

• Strategic liaison: Act as a primary contact for business stakeholders, ensuring data solutions align with business needs and objectives.
• Data analysis and insights: Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, create reports and develop dashboards that support key projects and provide actionable insights.
• Solution development: Collaborate with technical teams to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions and help outline data solution options.
• Project and change management: Manage data-driven projects and help implement changes to improve data-related processes and outcomes.
• Data literacy and culture: Promote data literacy and a data-driven culture by educating users on how to interpret data and encouraging its use in decision-making.
• Data governance and risk management: Support data governance initiatives, ensure data integrity, and identify and mitigate risks associated with data initiatives.
• Reporting and forecasting: Assist in co-ordinating budgeting and forecasting processes and provide progress reporting on data initiatives.

Key skills:

• Strong business acumen and the ability to bridge the gap between the business and CDO/ITD teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and data interpretation skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting and creating data visualisations.
• Strong organizational skills, including planning and prioritization.
• Expertise in data governance and data management principles.
• Expertise in AI use case identification, business case analysis and solution implementation to streamline business processes.

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience of which minimum 8 years in data strategy, analytics or business partnering roles.
• Proven success in leading cross-functional data initiatives in complex, matrixed organisations.
• Knowledge of Capital market processes and systems.
