About the Role:

We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer who’s passionate about using AI to help engineers move faster, build more reliably, and innovate with confidence.

As part of our AI for Engineering Productivity initiative, you’ll design, prototype, and apply AI-assisted development techniques — from code generation and test automation to refactoring tools and release optimization. You’ll work hands-on with product and platform teams to integrate these approaches into real-world systems, and help scale the most impactful ones through close collaboration with our Developer Platform team.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy experimenting with new tools, solving practical engineering challenges, and mentoring peers in applying AI to everyday development.

You Will:

  • Lead by example. Apply AI-assisted development techniques to real-world product and platform challenges — such as code generation, test creation, static analysis, or dependency refactoring.

  • Partner across teams. Work with product engineers, DevOps, and the Development Platform team to integrate AI-driven workflows into existing systems and processes.

  • Scale success. Translate proven techniques into reusable platform services, SDKs, and frameworks that accelerate adoption across the entire engineering organization.

  • Drive special initiatives. Partner with product engineering teams focused on high-impact efforts (e.g., codebase modernization, performance refactors, or CI/CD workflow automation) to demonstrate how AI can transform velocity and reliability.

  • Mentor and influence. Coach engineers on the effective and responsible use of AI in day-to-day development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Shape the future of AI engineering. Contribute to the technical strategy for how AI integrates into our developer platform, engineering practices, and long-term product delivery roadmap.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership across squads or groups.

  • Strong hands-on coding skills and experience delivering production systems across complex codebases.

  • Backend or fullstack expertise in one or more of the following: backend technologies (Node.js, Kotlin, Java, Python, Go), frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, Next.js), or mobile (React Native, Swift, Kotlin/Android).

  • Demonstrated success using AI tools to improve engineering productivity, such as:

    • AI-assisted code generation or review

    • Automated test authoring and analysis

    • Intelligent refactoring or code quality tooling

    • Workflow orchestration with frameworks like LangChain, MCP, or similar pipelines

  • Experience with CI/CD workflows, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes), and developer platform tooling.

  • Proven ability to set and elevate standards for system design, code quality, and operational excellence.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills — you elevate others through partnership and shared learning.

You'll Thrive Here If You:

  • Love experimenting with AI tools and applying them to real engineering challenges.

  • Lead through action and example — you demonstrate new practices by building them.

  • Enjoy translating early prototypes into production-ready, maintainable systems.

  • Are curious, pragmatic, and impact-driven — you measure success by how much faster and better your teammates can build.

  • Care deeply about code quality, developer experience, and continuous improvement.

Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):

  • Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles

  • Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days

  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave

  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)

  • 401k benefits with employer matching contribution

  • Offsite team retreats

We are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply—even if you're not sure if your background or experience is a perfect match.
