Job Title: Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Job Location: Offshore – India (Bangalore)

Job Summary:  As a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 7-8 years of experience, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality and reliability of our software products. In this leadership role, you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated automated testing solutions, utilizing your extensive expertise in Java or Python, Selenium, and other modern testing tools. You will guide a team of SDETs and testers, driving the strategic direction for our testing efforts and ensuring that our software meets the rigorous standards demanded by our global clients.

You will be responsible for defining test automation strategies, enhancing and maintaining test frameworks, and integrating automation into our development processes. Your role will also involve mentoring team members, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into effective test plans, and leveraging Python and Pandas for comprehensive data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Sprint Involvement: Lead and participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-up meetings to ensure alignment on testing goals and progress.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to understand and define software requirements, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and integration of testing strategies.
  • Strategy Definition: Develop and define comprehensive test strategies and plans using industry-leading methodologies, tools, and techniques to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Framework Design: Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated test frameworks, tools, and processes to drive testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Test Development: Oversee the development and execution of both manual and automated test cases, ensuring thorough verification of software functionality and performance.
  • Results Analysis: Analyze test results, track and manage defects, and collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Test-Driven Development: Facilitate and promote test-driven development practices, assisting developers with debugging and reproducing issues to enhance software quality.
  • CI/CD Integration: Contribute to the development, optimization, and maintenance of the CI/CD pipeline to streamline and automate the testing and deployment processes.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior SDETs and testing team members, providing support and fostering a collaborative, high-performance testing environment.

 

 Desired Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 6- 9 years of strong Proven experience in a leadership or lead role within a testing team.
  • Strong ability to create, update, and review test planning, test cases, test data, and test scenarios.
  • Manage QA metrics, prepare reports and present to stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience in Java / Python
  • Strong expertise in Web, API & Database validation test automation tools, including Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, RestAssured, JDBC, Apache POI, JSoup, HttpClient, ExtentReport, Maven, and Cucumber.
  • Good knowledge of automation framework design and implementation.
  • Proficient in CI/CD integration, version control systems (e.g., Git, Jenkins), and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr, QC/ALM).
  • Experience with SQL Server or equivalent and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with web services standards/technologies (HTML, XML, SOAP, JSON, REST, JUnit).
  • Strong ability to work closely with developers and product owners to ensure features.
  • Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and bug life cycle.
  • Involved in various testing phases like integration, regression, system, and UAT testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
  • Good experience in API testing (REST) using tools such as POSTMAN, Swagger UI, and UNIX commands.
  • Work closely with the business/product team and get involved in the early stage of requirement analysis.
  • Rapid adaptation to new technologies and tools.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts.
  • Efficient self-learning and independent problem-solving.

Preferred Skills:

  • Subject matter expertise in the healthcare domain.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum SDLC and tools like JIRA, Confluence.
  • Background in the US healthcare industry.
