Responsibilities:

PostgreSQL Expertise

  • Leverage your in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL to design, implement, and maintain high-performance database systems.
  • Run regular performance tuning and optimization to ensure the efficiency and reliability of PostgreSQL databases.

Database Management

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement effective database solutions, focusing on multithreading optimization and scalability.
  • Develop and implement strategies for database growth management, including capacity planning, data partitioning, and storage optimization
  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot PostgreSQL-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Work with our application team partners to ensure that the hardware resources allocated to the databases are optimized to ensure high availability and optimum performance.
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades


Security and Compliance

Implement robust security measures specific to PostgreSQL databases.

Stay updated on PostgreSQL best practices and industry compliance standards.


Backup and Recovery

Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies for PostgreSQL databases.

Monitor and enhance backup processes to guarantee data integrity.

  • 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or DBA - a must
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Database Administrator with a strong focus on PostgreSQL - a must
  • Experience with AWS and particularly RDS
  • Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, performance tuning, and optimization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions for scaling PostgreSQL databases to meet evolving business needs.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving complex database issues related to concurrency, locking, and resource contention in a multithreaded environment.
  • You worked with Postgresql analysis tools such as pgBadger
  • Familiarity with database security protocols and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing high availability and disaster recovery solutions in PostgreSQL

Nice to have:

  • Experience with AWS Aurora.
  • Experience with K8S, Helm is a plus
