As the Systems Development Engineer for Strategic Initiatives, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Ignition based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for HelloFresh. You will also be an integral part of the maintenance of the equipment control systems within HelloFresh facilities.  You’ll be part of a fast-paced, high-impact organization committed to getting things done while maintaining a long-term vision in critical areas that span the whole company.

You will…

• Develop and manage a comprehensive SCADA integration program, including project plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of SCADA systems.
• Collaborate with vendor partners to ensure timely delivery of SCADA equipment and software.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and regulatory agencies.
• Act as the Subject-Matter Expert (SME) for SCADA integration and the Ignition platform.
• Develop and implement solutions built on the Ignition platform, as well as manage integration and device connectivity.
• Lead risk management efforts, including the identification and mitigation of potential project risks.
• Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Provide regular status updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Develop and implement hardware and software solutions for system monitoring and analysis.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to SCADA integration processes and procedures.
• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams and ensure their adherence to project plans and schedules.
• Monitor equipment metrics and drive towards the improvement of those metrics by guiding site teams.
• Participate in the interview and selection process for controls technicians.

Act as an escalation point and remote troubleshooting resource for Control Systems Technicians and Specialists, and escalate to leadership and/or vendors as needed for additional troubleshooting.

• Manage the Controls Change Management process and act as an engineering resource for control systems.

Drive compliance on relevant OSHA, NFPA70E, and NEC regulations.

You have…

• 5+ years of experience with controls and automation in a manufacturing/food and beverage/distribution environment.
• 2+ years of experience as an Inductive Automation Ignition developer and an Ignition Gold Developer certification (or greater).
• 2+ years of experience utilizing the Python programming language preferred.
• 2+ years of experience utilizing SQL to communicate with and modify relational databases preferred.
• 2+ years experience utilizing and implementing API integrations preferred.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or an equivalent level of knowledge and understanding of automation controls, communication protocols, and system troubleshooting.
• Proven attention to detail and accuracy
• Excitement for working in a start-up environment with a high level of ambiguity and change
• Program/Project management experience with a controls and/or maintenance focus
• Comfortable working in cold environments with some areas of facility at 40F.
• Excitement for working in a start-up environment with a high level of ambiguity and change.
• High level of integrity and ethics with excellent follow-through.
• Ability to travel as needed (Up to 75%).
