Senior Platform Engineer, Release Engineering (f/m/x), Foundations Alliance

The role

The Foundations Alliance builds the tools, services, systems, and infrastructure that engineering teams across HelloFresh use daily.

As a Senior Platform Engineer in the Release Engineering Squad, you'll design and build tools that ensure safe and reliable software releases. You'll focus on automating the detection of defects in new versions and creating efficient rollback mechanisms for faulty deployments. Your work will play a key role in enhancing the stability and efficiency of our release processes.

What you’ll do

• Architect and build infrastructure automation at scale for 1000+ engineers.
• Implement self-service release management tools.
• Drive positive change in early defect detection and ensure continuous deployments across the whole HelloTech Organisation.
• Consult with and educate engineers about release strategies, deployment safety, and incident management best practices.

What you’ll bring

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD strategies, including GitOps principles, to streamline deployments and manage configurations effectively.
• Proven experience implementing progressive delivery methods such as canary and blue/green deployments to ensure safe rollouts.
• Experience with distributed systems, particularly working with Kubernetes to manage and orchestrate containerized applications.
• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its services
• Good knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
• Familiarity with SRE best practices and principles (e.g. SLIs/SLOs, incident management, post-mortems, etc.)
• Experience building highly available and observable systems at scale (preferably in Go or Python)
