Data Engineer

The Data Engineering Squad within the Data & Business Intelligence team plays a pivotal role in transforming HelloFresh UK by ensuring that our data architecture and technology stack is optimized for local needs while staying aligned with global standards. We are the operational backbone of HelloFresh UK, taking global systems and adapting them to meet the complexities of our local market. What You Will Be Doing:

• Building Scalable Solutions: Design and develop robust, scalable, and flexible systems using Python, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
• Automation & Optimization: Automate repetitive tasks and workflows to optimize processes across different business areas.
• Data Orchestration: Implement and manage job orchestration workflows with tools like Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes within a cloud environment (preferably AWS).
• On-Call Support: Provide rotational on-call support during business-critical processes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations (including weekends, with additional compensation).

Who You Are:

• Experience: You have at least 2 years of hands-on experience designing and building complex data solutions using Python, Pandas, SQL, and related technologies.
• Data Engineering Skills: You are familiar with data modeling and manipulation techniques across various contexts (data preparation, consumption, and software engineering).
• Cloud & Orchestration: You’ve worked with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and have hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Airflow, containerization technologies like Docker, and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• ETL Expertise: You understand the full ETL lifecycle and have experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines, with a solid understanding of tools like DBT for data transformations in Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses.
