Associate Director of Product Design - Consumer Services (f/m/x)

The role

We’re looking for a Head of Product Design to lead the Consumer Service domain — a critical pillar of our customer experience that includes our pricing and benefits model, monetization strategy, service layers, and foundational user journeys.

In this role, you’ll lead a team of designers focused on shaping core value communication, service clarity, and customer retention through design. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Marketing, and Brand to build experiences that are transparent, trustworthy, and value-driven — helping customers understand what they’re getting, why it’s worth it, and how to make the most of it.

You’ll be a key member of our UX leadership team, expected to operate with strategic vision while ensuring high-quality execution, coaching your team to deliver outcomes that drive both user satisfaction and business growth.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design vision, strategy, and execution across the Consumer Service domain, including key areas such as pricing, benefits, and monetization models.
• Manage and grow a team of Product Designers, providing mentorship, feedback, and opportunities for growth while fostering a culture of craft, collaboration, and impact.
• Drive alignment across design, product, and engineering, ensuring shared understanding of problems, goals, and paths to success.
• Elevate service clarity through thoughtful, transparent UX that helps users understand value propositions, subscription mechanics, and choices.
• Work with stakeholders across brand, legal, and research to create experiences that are compliant, on-brand, and empathetic.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to test, learn, and iterate on hypotheses that drive customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue.
• Champion design quality and systems thinking, ensuring consistency and cohesion while enabling flexibility across markets and brands.
• Represent UX in strategic conversations and contribute to shaping the future of HelloFresh’s user experience globally.

What you’ll bring

• A seasoned design leader with 8+ years of experience in product design, including 3+ years in a management or leadership role.
• Experienced working on complex service models, pricing experiences, or monetization flows in consumer-facing digital products.
• Passionate about clarity, trust, and transparency in user experience design.
• Strong in systems thinking, with the ability to balance global consistency with local flexibility.
• You have a deep commitment to craft excellence, attention to detail, and ensuring high design standards across every touchpoint.
• Deeply collaborative — you bring cross-functional partners along with clarity and empathy.
• A coach and mentor at heart, who leads with curiosity and cultivates growth in others.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and scaling design in fast-paced, experiment-driven environments.
• Data-literate and hypothesis-driven — you care about outcomes, not just outputs.
