HEIDELBERG is one of the world's leading technology companies for the print media industry. To strengthen our presence in China – our largest single market worldwide – we are expanding our software development activities at our Qingpu site near Shanghai.

This position offers a unique international career opportunity: Following a comprehensive onboarding and training phase at our headquarters in Wiesloch-Walldorf, Germany, you will take on a key software development role in Qingpu, China, helping to drive innovation in our next generation of printing systems.

What You Can Expect

• Work on state-of-the-art embedded software solutions for highly automated industrial printing systems
• Join an international development team with colleagues in Germany and China
• Take responsibility for software components that directly impact machine performance, quality and productivity

Your Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software for printing press control systems using modern C++ on Linux real-time platforms
• Collaborate closely with software, mechanical and test engineers across international teams
• Validate and optimize software solutions on prototype and production systems
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety and quality standards
• Create and review software architectures and technical documentation
• Support continuous improvement and innovation within the development process
   

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and experience with Linux-based development environments
• Knowledge of software engineering methods and tools
• Experience in automation technology, machine control systems or embedded software is a plus
• Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in an international environment
• Fluent English skills; German language skills are an advantage
