Headout has served tens of millions of guests from 196 countries (every single sovereign state on the planet) on one of our experiences across 100+ cities in 9 languages. Today, we have sales of 100s of millions of $s a year and are growing rapidly. Contrary to the norm, we deliver this scale and growth while being profitable. We've been unit profitable for 18 months + and have recently turned EBITDA profitable as well. We have raised $60M+ from top-tier investors and are building a durable company for the long term - because that's what our mission needs and deserves.

๐ฉโ๐ป The Role
- Lead one of the product engineering team of young, passionate, talented and fun loving superstars.
- Full responsibility of designing and building core modules on the application and infrastructure layer.
- Work with multiple teams and stakeholders across organization to launch new features and user experiences at scale.
- Empower and encourage the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical productivity and quality.
- Help the team members with their career growth with constant mentoring and continuous feedbacks.
- Build a world class engineering team by hiring diverse engineers while working closely with talent acquisition team.
- Contribute and develop scalable processes and frameworks to optimize for innovation, speed of delivery, and quality of user experience.
- Work with global leadership team to define the strategic direction and roadmap for your team to deliver best in class experience to Headout users.
- Solve challenging architectural and design problems by getting your hands dirty with clustering, replication, databases, build systems and infrastructure automation etc.
- Be responsible for building concurrent, performant and scalable services which will power the entire Headout ecosystem.

- Obsessive about customer experience - everything from beautiful web experiences to ultra low latency and high back-end scalability.

- No challenge is too big to solve; love thinking product and excited to ideate & build stuff all by yourself.
- You know how to hire the best talent and have played pivotal role in hiring engineers in a high growth startup in past.

- You have broad and deep knowledge across a variety of contemporary technologies.
- You love autonomy and responsibility and can navigate through ambiguity and uncertainty to figure out what needs to be done and get it done.

- 7+ years experience developing high performance applications and services using any language or framework, preferably in a high-growth startup.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and people management skills.
- Solid hands-on experience in building solid frontend or backend applications.
- You understand engineering culture and bring in best practices but also evolve at the same time. You know how to balance between creativity and process.
- Containers vs Serverless? CSS in JS or old school style of CSS files? SQL or NoSQL? We love people who have strong opinions and we would love to hear and debate yours.
