As a Senior Manager of Software Development, you will lead a team of high-performing software engineers and test engineers, creating scalable and high-quality software that powers our compliance services. What you'll do
Lead and Develop Talent: Build and scale a high-performing team of developers and testers. You’ll mentor engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and high standards.
Strategic Growth: Lead the development team during a high-growth phase, ensuring infrastructure and processes can scale effectively. Implement and optimize tools, methodologies, and metrics to drive team productivity and software quality.
Agile Leadership: Oversee the adoption and refinement of Agile methodologies, ensuring that teams deliver on sprint commitments, streamline delivery processes, and meet business deadlines.
Continuous Improvement: Implement modern development practices like CI/CD, test-driven development, and automated testing, creating an environment of continuous integration and seamless software delivery.
Business Alignment: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure the development team is aligned with product and business priorities, driving outcomes that directly support Harbor Compliance’s strategic objectives.
Metrics-Driven Management: Utilize KPIs and analytics to monitor developer productivity, code quality, and project delivery times. Set and achieve targets for key development metrics.
Team and Career Management: Conduct performance reviews, set clear goals, and provide career development plans for team members, ensuring alignment with their personal growth and company needs.
Innovative Problem Solving: Encourage creative solutions to complex technical challenges, fostering an environment where the team constantly seeks better, faster, and more efficient ways to deliver value.
Proven Track Record: 7+ years of experience leading software development teams in a high-growth SaaS environment.
Leadership and Mentorship: Experience managing teams of diverse engineering talents, from entry-level to senior engineers. A strong passion for mentoring and guiding engineers in their professional growth.
Technical Expertise: Deep experience with modern development environments, including CI/CD pipelines, test-driven development, automated testing, and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
Agile Mastery: Demonstrated expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies, driving team productivity and efficiency in high-velocity environments.
Data-Driven Management: Familiarity with performance metrics such as code quality measures, cycle time, and sprint efficiency to track and improve developer performance.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Hands-On Experience: Expertise in full-stack development using PHP (CakePHP or Laravel) and frontend (Vue.js or similar) frameworks.
