NPI Project Manager, Supply Chain

Location: Garden Grove, CA

Department: 270 Supply Chain

About Harbinger

Harbinger is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company on a mission to transform an industry starving for innovation. Harbinger’s best-in-class team of EV, battery, and drivetrain experts have pooled their deep experience to bring a first-of-its-kind EV platform to support the growing demand for medium-duty EVs and Hybrids. Harbinger: Familiar Form, Revolutionary Foundation.

Role Overview

Harbinger is seeking a NPI Project Manager, Supply Chain to drive cross-functional execution and ensure material readiness across our growing vehicle lineup, including the Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Chassis, HC Series Cab, Step Van, and Sevna Cab Chassis platforms. This role sits at the center of Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier Development, translating program milestones into supply chain action and keeping production continuity on track through every ramp, launch, and shortage event.

This is a high-visibility, hands-on role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds structure where none exists yet, and is comfortable being the single point of accountability for supply readiness on a fast-moving vehicle program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end supply chain planning for new product launches and platform ramps, from early design through first-unit shipment and into steady-state production.
  • Develop and maintain the master NPI / launch timing plan from sourcing through SOP/SORP and ramp-up.
  • Establish and continuously improve standardized NPI/SCPM methodologies, phase-gate processes, and repeatable playbooks, defining clear roles, escalation paths, and standard work across programs.
  • Champion for MRP and ISO implementation for the supply chain organization.
  • Drive shortage management: identify at-risk parts, coordinate expedites and alternate sourcing, and keep production lines running through supply disruptions.
  • Partner with Engineering to translate design and BOM changes into scalable sourcing and manufacturing plans, and manage the supply chain impact of ECOs/PCOs.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier Development to align supply readiness with production build schedules.
  • Own program-level supply chain schedules, identify critical-path material risks, and proactively mitigate them before they impact the line.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for your program(s), running status meetings and delivering summaries of risks, decisions needed, and progress.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with 3+ years of experience in supply chain program management, project management, or operations—ideally within automotive, EV, aerospace, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) programs from concept through production handoff.
  • Demonstrated success managing shortages and material readiness for production continuity.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain data/reporting tools (e.g., Oracle, advanced Excel).
  • Strong track record leading complex, cross-functional projects, with the excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to align internal teams and suppliers.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, drive root-cause problem solving, and deliver results across competing priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to suppliers, service locations, or other operating locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with vertically integrated manufacturing environments and the interplay between in-house production and outside suppliers.
  • Knowledge of automotive or commercial vehicle supply chain KPIs and quality/compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with program management methodologies.
  • Experience standing up or improving program management processes and reporting cadences in a scaling organization.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
