Through advanced downhole tools, real-time data acquisition, and reliability-driven engineering, Sperry enables customers to maximize well placement, efficiency, and reservoir understanding in every drilling environment.

About the Role

The Electrical / Electronics Technical Professional serves as a key contributor to the design, development, validation, and sustainment of electrical and electronic systems supporting downhole tools and associated surface equipment. • Develop, test, and debug firmware for microprocessor, microcontroller, or DSP-based systems.
  • Perform system-level diagnostics and analytical troubleshooting of electrical and electronic subsystems.
  • Support design validation, reliability testing, and environmental qualification programs.
  • Investigate field returns and manufacturing issues through structured root cause analysis.
  • Develop technical specifications, test procedures, and engineering documentation.
  • Apply reliability engineering principles throughout the design and validation process.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Service teams to ensure seamless product support across the lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with Halliburton HSE and Service Quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical/electronic system design, validation, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience with analog/digital circuit design and embedded systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with microcontroller or DSP-based systems.
  • Experience developing or supporting automated test systems strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies).
  • Understanding of reliability principles and structured validation methodologies.
