As our Lead Data Engineer, you'll be diving deep into the data ocean, charting new cloud territories and navigating complex challenges, implementing solutions to harness positive and impactful change in the way we use and identify data.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Developing and delivering modularised, automated, event-driven data engineering pipelines and data modelling approaches.
- Delivering data engineering strategies to build a scalable data architecture and feature rich dataset to support the wider Data function and the Gymshark business.
- Identifying and implementing modern code development strategies, in collaboration with Data Governance, to target and streamline the resolution of data quality issues, access, and processing of data.
- Embedding new data techniques into the business through coaching, training, and providing experiment design oversight to data engineers.
- Working with third party partners and software providers to improve and/or implement new data solutions and processes.
- Setting standards of our usage and alignment to data privacy standards, in collaboration with Data Governance to ensure best practice standards are applied/maintained.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- This will give you the opportunity to really utilise your skills in RDBMS, Python, Hadoop, SQL or Pyspark.
- Be an expert in data warehousing, data wrangling and data modelling approaches
- Confident in critical thinking, communication and problem-solving ability and stakeholder management and voicing your expertise
- Mentor and lead a data team of different levels through best practice and career development
This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSHQ, Solihull, UK.
