THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Mid Data Engineer to our New Ventures team in Brazil! 

In New Ventures, we are constantly turning new wellbeing product ideas into reality. We split the New Ventures Focus Area internally in squads who take care of all our projects. Our squad is a versatile, diverse and fast-paced team who is building a new online healthcare product to boost Wellhub's premium offer.

We want to find a strong and motivated data engineer to help us build the foundations of our new data-rich project. If you'd like to be part of our team and build something new from the ground up, this opportunity is for you!

We use data and software engineering principles to solve large-scale production challenges. Our infrastructure is completely in the cloud, running Kubernetes and using all tools provided by AWS.

YOUR IMPACT

• Work closely to the development and data analysts team and understand the data needs both from a production and consumption points of view;
• Collaborate on the design and implementation of a scalable and modern data infrastructure that is capable of tackling the project needs;
• Account for systems consistency, reliability and scalability;
• Support existing systems looking to enhance functionality, increase scale, and transform in new ways to meet our product demands;
• Work in a collaborative and agile environment that prioritizes people over process and is laser-focused on productivity;
• Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in production;
• Take a proactive approach on keeping our stack up-to-date with the best-in-class industry practices;
• Ensure successful deliveries, and promote long-term technical health;
• Ensure a high bar on code and infra quality standards, making sure the team is proud of their work;
• Advise for best industry practices and contribute to a consistent improvement of the team's standards;

WHO YOU ARE

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
• Experience using Python, Java, or similar language (Python experience preferred);
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills;
• Familiarity with Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ, or similar;
• Familiarity with Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane, or similar;
• Experienced in Cloud-based architectures (AWS / GCP);
• Experienced with SQL and NoSQL databases;
• Understanding of distributed systems and data-intensive applications;
• Understanding of analytical data warehouses;
• Genuine interest in big data applications and their technology trends;
• Communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams located in several countries with different cultures;
• Professional English proficiency.
