🚀Job Overview:

As an Engineering Manager for Groupon's Merchant Center, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for developing and enhancing the platform that merchants use to manage campaign, analytics, and customer engagement. You will focus on delivering high-impact, scalable solutions that align with business goals, driving merchant engagement and success. Your role involves mentoring engineers, ensuring high-quality code, and fostering a collaborative, innovative environment that prioritizes ownership and continuous improvement.

💪🏼You’ll spend time on the following:

• Leading a team of software engineers to help us develop microservices at a scale that is required for Groupon
• Hiring, mentoring and coaching your direct reports to be the best they can be
• Working cross-functionally with other teams to understand and prioritize user asks, features and tooling.
• Work with Commercial and Product stakeholders to ensure execution of Travel roadmap to meet business objectives
• Running ongoing delivery and daily operations of services
• Continuously improving the management and engineering processes for the team and services.

🏆We value Managers who have:

• B.E or higher degree in Computer Science with 8+ years of experience
• 2+ years of experience in leading a team of engineers.
• Experience building and growing a team of engineers.
• Experience designing and implementing large, scalable, distributed systems
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with multiple languages Java, Node/Express JS,  React. js etc.
• Backend experience with RESTful API and RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.)
• Been a role model for engineers on the team, providing timely coaching and mentoring to all.

• Experience with managing platform services, delivering projects in dynamic environment
• You have been responsible for building and leading a high performance engineering team
• You are highly technical with a strong background in computer science. You have a track record of handling technical design and completing projects with high quality.
• Good communication and collaboration skills and ability to deal with ambiguity
• You have experience motivating teams towards delivering business results in a dynamic agile environment.
• You are comfortable operating at leadership level as well as getting your hands dirty.
• You have experience in related domains within e-commerce.
• You have made decisions that impact technical design, development and planning for one or more projects/programs that impact multiple teams or functions.
• You frequently interact with multiple cross-functional teams and lead a cooperative effort to drive key technical projects.
