The Senior Process Engineer (Tech Transfer) is responsible for supporting the design, commissioning, and operation for both new and existing Battery Active Material (BAM) Group14 production facilities. This position will work in the process science, development, and tech transfer team. This position will work with the R&D, major projects, and the engineering teams tasked with the design and construction of the world’s largest production facility of next generation lithium silicon anode materials.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

-Conceive, plan, execute and report the process development studies towards process scale-up and technology transfer to commercial scale within a quarterly format.

-Explore, identify, and implement existing chemical processes to advance the process efficiencies at pilot and commercial scale.

-Assist in design, construction, and commissioning of process equipment.

-Establish engineering change management systems to evaluate and mitigate process and product risks.

-Coordinate with R&D, Manufacturing, and engineering teams to schedule and prioritize activities to meet corporate and team goals in short cycles.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

-Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant industrial experience.

-Must have experience in capital project management.

-Must have experience with thermal processing equipment (100s of kg scale).

-Must have industrial Chemical Plant experience.

-Must have experience in PSM covered facilities.

-Experience with bulk powders processing.

-Excellent communication skills.

-Demonstrated organizational skills.

OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:

-Experience in chemical and materials characterization, reactivity.

-Start-up experience.

-Six-sigma certification or documented training.

-Experience with silicon gases.

-Experience with carbon process.

-Industrial Experience of using Aspen, Hysys, or ChemCAD.

The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000. All positions come with a company bonus and stock options. The actual base pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
