Time Type: Full time

Job Description

[What the role is]

Help Singapore stay ahead of future industrial growth by developing a clear picture of the country's industrial power needs and ensuring sufficient infrastructure and energy supply are in place to support them.

You will work with agencies and industry stakeholders to understand demand, identify potential supply gaps, evaluate solutions, and explore funding approaches to ensure Singapore remains an attractive location for investments and industry.

[What you will be working on]

  • Build a comprehensive picture of Singapore's future industrial power demand by bringing together data from different sectors and stakeholders.
  • Analyse how industrial power needs may evolve over time, taking into account varying levels of certainty, growth trajectories, and operational patterns.
  • Develop an integrated view of power demand and available supply capacity across the electricity system.
  • Challenge assumptions and test the robustness of planning data to ensure decisions are grounded in sound analysis.
  • Assess and develop options to meet future power needs, including new generation capacity, grid enhancements, and interim solutions.
  • Evaluate funding and cost-sharing approaches involving government support, industry commitments, and tariff-based mechanisms.
  • Support discussions and decision-making across agencies, regulators, infrastructure providers, and industry representatives.

[What we are looking for]

Essential

  • Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure planning, energy policy, economic development, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work through complex data from multiple sources.
  • Comfortable engaging and coordinating with diverse stakeholders across government agencies, industry partners, and infrastructure providers.
  • Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to turn complex issues into clear recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Curious, adaptable and comfortable working in an evolving environment where not all answers are immediately available

Good-To-Have

  • Familiarity with the power or energy sector, including how electricity generation, transmission, and infrastructure planning work. Deep technical expertise is not required.
  • Experience working on large infrastructure projects, regulatory processes, land use planning, or major investment projects.
  • Understanding of Singapore's industrial landscape and economic development priorities.
  • Ability to navigate technical discussions and engage confidently with engineers, energy specialists, and industry stakeholders.
