Full Stack / AI Developer

Objective of this Role (Why do we have this role?) 

Gorilla Commerce is seeking a Full Stack / AI Developer to build, deploy, and monitor the applications, data pipelines, and AI automations the business runs on. The role translates business context into functional requirements and ships performant, resilient applications using AI-assisted development tools and techniques. What distinguishes this position from a conventional full stack role is that this person also builds the APIs, tools, and agent interfaces that internal AI agents consume, and is expected to use coding assistants as a primary part of their daily workflow. We are looking for a capable mid-level engineer who moves quickly with AI tooling, rather than a long-tenured specialist. 

Daily & Monthly Responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain web applications using component-based front end frameworks such as ReactJS, with Python or C# on the back end. 

• Implement new features and optimize code using established development patterns and best practices, ensuring applications are scalable and efficient. 

• Develop APIs and tool-based back end services using C#, Python, or .NET Core, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and well documented. 

• Design and manage relational and NoSQL databases, optimizing database performance and queries. 

• Build and maintain tools, APIs, and MCP servers that internal AI agents consume, extending patterns already established with Gorilla Commerce's advertising automation work. 

• Design and implement AI-assisted automations and agent workflows that remove manual steps from business processes. 

• Build custom user interfaces that streamline data manipulation for business teams. 

• Support and troubleshoot applications in production, owning uptime and issue resolution. 

• Apply Test Driven Development and AI-assisted development lifecycle practices to keep quality high as delivery speed increases. 

• Contribute to code review, documentation, and engineering standards across the development team. 

• Participate in sprint planning and provide daily standup updates and weekly delivery reporting. 

Skills & Qualifications 

Must-Haves 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience. 

• 3+ years of full stack development in a corporate environment. 

• 3+ years of experience with component-based front end frameworks. 

• Strong experience in database management and optimization. 

• Backend proficiency in C#, .NET Core, or Python. 

• Front end proficiency in ReactJS. 

• Working experience with Postgres and MongoDB. 

• Demonstrated fluency with AI coding assistants as a primary part of the daily development workflow, and familiarity with AI-assisted development lifecycle practices. 

• Experience with Test Driven Development. 

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills. 

Nice-to-Haves 

• Experience building or integrating with MCP servers, agent tooling, or LLM APIs. 

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, or embedding-based search. 

• Experience building and operating data pipelines. 

• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability tooling. 

• Ecommerce or consumer products domain experience. 

This role is a contracted position and fully remote
