Staff Software Engineer - Cloud

Location: Flexible (Sydney). This role offers the flexibility to work from home, within proximity to an office location.

The Role

What You Will Do

• Lead the design, development, testing and operational excellence of cloud services and infrastructure.
• Support the design and architecture of cloud services and infrastructure.
• Spearhead the implementation of new cloud services.
• Collaborate with other members of cross-functional teams.

Skills We’re Excited About

• Minimum 7+ years of professional experience.
• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent tertiary education.
• Professional experience, harnessing Agile methodology for collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
• Competency with managing the full-development lifecycle while aligning with operational KPIs.
• Experience with designing, implementing and managing PostgreSQL database schema.
• Demonstrable skills for building maintainable, extensible, secure and scalable APIs that are intuitive to integrate.
• Sound practical understanding of best-practices in architectural design of cloud services and infrastructure.
• Proficiency for developing performant microservices with well-considered architecture and related design patterns. 

Bonus Points For

• Prior experience managing and manipulating spatial data.
• Familiarity with PostGIS.
• Proficiency for monitoring, tuning and optimization of cloud resources.
• Expertise with building RPC solutions.
• Experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Willingness to mentor peers where appropriate.
