About The Role

As a Database Administrator (DBA), you’ll play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our GoodRx data infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our data systems. Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain databases.

  • Optimize database performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage.

  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.

  • Monitor and manage access controls.

  • Ensure data integrity through backups, replication, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Monitor database health, identifying and resolving issues promptly.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, errors, and anomalies

  • Regularly backup databases to prevent data loss.

  • Develop and test recovery procedures.

  • Design and maintain database schemas.

  • Normalize data structures for efficient storage and retrieval.

  • Optimize SQL queries for better performance.

  • Create and manage indexes.

  • Work closely with product managers, data scientists, data analysts, and engineers to define features and requirements for our Data Platform.

  • Provide valuable insights and contribute to the design, development and architecture of data solutions.

  • Estimate future data growth and plan for scalability.

  • Allocate resources appropriately.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for databases, schemas, and processes.

  • Continuously monitor and fine-tune database performance.

  • Optimize resource utilization.

  • Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades.

  • Minimize downtime during transitions.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional experience as DBA in any two of the databases/data warehouses such as Redshift, mySQL, PostgresQL, Snowflake, Big Query, Databricks, etc., using cloud services AWS and GCP.

  • Extensive experience interpreting and debugging application data flow and data pipelines using technologies such as GoLang, Python, Databricks, pySpark, and Kafka.

  • Proficiency in handling large-scale data sets.

  • Experience building and maintaining Databases that supports multiple engineering teams and processes applications data and big data.

  • Ability to quickly grasp complex data domains and learn new technologies.

  • Innately curious and organized, with a drive to analyze data, identify deliverables, anomalies, and gaps, and propose effective solutions.

  • Proven experience designing data models that have been successfully implemented in production.

  • Strong expertise in writing complex SQL queries and database monitoring/alerting automation.

  • Strong expertise in analyzing SQL performance and optimization.

  • Experience planning and implementing disaster recovery of the critical databases.

  • Experience in owning the cost management for the cloud database services such as Redshift, RDS, Databricks and etc.,.

  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Redshift, RDS, EKS, S3, EMR, Glue, and Lambda.

Good To Have:

  • Experience contributing to full lifecycle deployments with a focus on testing and quality.

  • Experience with data quality processes, data quality checks, validations, data quality metrics definition and measurement.

  • DBA certifications.

  • Experience using GitHub, Docker, Terraform, CodeFresh, and Jira.

The pay ranges below are shown as a guideline, and the successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant business and organizational factors. San Francisco and Seattle Offices:

$226,000.00 - $361,000.00

New York Office:

$207,000.00 - $331,000.00

Santa Monica Office:

$188,000.00 - $301,000.00

Other Office Locations:

$169,000.00 - $271,000.00
