About the Role

GoodRx is looking for an experienced Lead Machine Learning Engineer to enable and accelerate our machine learning efforts to help maximize the value of GoodRx’s platform for both customers and stakeholders. The Ideal candidate should possess a unique combination of practical, hands-on data and analytics technical expertise and building data services and products with a large volume of datasets and strong understanding of inner working of various machine learning models.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of analytical capabilities and applications

  • Lead the creation of machine learning (deep learning) models and pipelines, ensuring the production of quality code and its maintenance

  • Direct the development of personalization services, microservice endpoints, and cross-platform data products/services for Android, iOS, and Web/Mobile Web

  • Oversee technology proof of concept projects, collaborating with other machine learning engineers to enhance infrastructure, as well as improve reliability and efficiency

  • Standardize the framework for machine learning algorithm development and deployment utilizing a data science workbench

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts to transition prototypes/MVPs into production deployments

  • Address complex technical challenges through debugging, research, and investigation

  • Participate in every phase of the product development life cycle, including design, development, testing, iteration, and deployment

  • Analyze data to gain insights into user behavior, product usage, audience segmentation, location intelligence, third-party data enrichment/append, and content consumption to inform business decisions

  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Operations Research or related field is required

  • 7+ years of professional experience in building machine learning systems at scale

  • Experience in developing machine learning systems/applications on AWS, GCP or Azure

  • Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, Golang

  • Experience working with Databricks

  • Experience working with Apache Spark (SQL, MLlib, Streaming)

  • Theoretical and practical implementation experience of machine learning techniques and algorithms (at least 4 of the following): factorization machines/SVM, k-NN, Naive Bayes, Clustering, Regression (OLS, Logistic, MNL), Decision Forests/Trees/Classifiers, Linear and Nonlinear Optimization

  • Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet

  • Comfortable with distributed systems, big data (Petabyte scale) and data-intensive systems

  • Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles including software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, testing methods

  • Deep understanding of data engineering practices both in modern data lakes and traditional data warehouse eco systems that are scalable for Structured, Semi-structured and unstructured data

  • Strong SQL skills. Strong analytical, and data modeling skills. Advanced understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes

  • Strong knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Demonstrated experience in organizing work and managing multiple potentially conflicting priorities while collaborating with stakeholders across multiple functions

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

  • Agile development experience is desired

The pay ranges below are shown as a guideline, and the successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant business and organizational factors. San Francisco and Seattle Offices:

$202,000.00 - $323,000.00

New York Office:

$185,000.00 - $296,000.00

Santa Monica Office:

$168,000.00 - $269,000.00

Other Office Locations:

$151,000.00 - $242,000.00
