Your Impact:

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) business unit within Core Engineering is looking for an experienced Security Software Engineer.  The role of a Security Software Engineer is to implement tools to harden the firm against security threats by preventing malicious behavior, improving our ability to detect unintended use and reporting the secure state of critical IAM platforms.  Security Software Engineers are subject matter experts of IAM platforms but must also understand how GS business applications are integrated to IAM solutions. The role is focused on risk identification, solution design and implementation. 

How You will Fulfill your Potential: 

In specific, the candidate will

• Develop, deploy and maintain scalable and resilient Automated Certificate Management platform by building integrations to a ever expanding collection of targets.
• Build security observability and control solutions to harden IAM platforms 
• Exploring new and emerging technologies as needed by Security team projects.
• Engage with other engineering teams to understand technology offerings and how they can be applied and leveraged as part of our solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java or Python
• Strong technical skills, analytical mindset, creative, enjoys the challenge of solving interesting and sometimes difficult technical problems.
• Experience with building and consuming RESTful web services
• Team player, eager to work in a global organization
• Commercially focused; seeks to understand the requirements and how they will benefit our clients, stakeholders, and business

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science 
• Experience with designing and building high-throughput, scalable, resilient systems
• Security or PKI experience a plus
• Experience with or knowledge of distributed NoSQL data stores such as MongoDB or ElasticSearch
• Good oral and written communication skills
