Senior Software Engineer (Dev Studio)

Join us!  As a Senior Software Engineer on the Dev Studio team at GoFundMe, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining our Public API, which is used by 3rd Party developers to integrate their own business applications with GoFundMe’s Classy Fundraising Suite, allowing nonprofit organizations to build customizations that would not be feasible through the product UI.

Candidates eligible for this role must reside in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Job…

• Build and improve our public-facing APIs.
• Collaborate with engineers, product management, designers, and 3rd Party Vendors to develop and enhance product features.
• Work on a combination of backend and frontend projects, while leveraging third-party vendors to build a robust platform and user experience.
• Own all aspects of the team’s work, including development, testing, and monitoring
• Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve urgent engineering issues.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.
• Advocate for codebase improvements and provide leadership and guidance within the team.
• Share your point of view and mentor anyone else on the team who can benefit from your unique experience
• Identify technical debt and proactively propose and implement solutions.

You… 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years building highly scalable projects involving cloud-based infrastructure design and implementation.
• High level of proficiency with Node.js, Javascript ES6 (typescript)
• Experience with building industry standard APIs with large throughputs
• Experience using Git in a workplace environment.
• Experience with performance and optimization problems and the ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
• Experience with application performance monitoring and log analytics tools.

Preferred

• Experience with React and Nest.js
• Experience with building cloud native applications in AWS (Terraform, SNS, SQS, EC2, ECS).
• Experience with integration testing to ensure product quality
• Experience with application monitoring in a cloud environment
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions
