Senior UX Engineer

Location Details: 

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.​

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

Join Our Team

Our team focuses on front-end UX development and design. The role leans a bit heavier on the development side vs design. We handle the backend integration, but you'll need to be familiar with design system components and the UI side of dynamic web apps. We're looking for someone who understands and can do both. We help bridge UX best practices, to production. This person needs to know CSS, HTML, React, JavaScript, webpage design, and implementation across all modern browsers. 

What you'll get to do...

• Advise, and collaborate with the UX Designers and Researchers on the details that matter to create the best user experience possible
• Work closely with UX Designers, Project Managers, and Software Engineers to implement versatile front-end solutions to web development problems
• Analyze and review UX problems with ambiguity. Gather the correct information to avoid solving the wrong problem
• Mitigate UI risks early in the process. Break down problems into clear and actionable software and UX design solutions
• Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes using the latest in front-end technologies
• Explore product concepts to find promising directions that address human and business needs

Your experience should include...

• 5+ years of software development in React and JavaScript, building front-end systems
• 3+ years working in a technical, UX, design environment, or similar space
• 3+ years of experience designing with HTML, and CSS
• Experience in or with design systems such as Figma
• Knowledge of Sketch, Illustrator, or other design software
• Experience writing technical documents for preliminary component creation
• Experience in development or prototyping
• Experience with Git/GitHub
• Experience in crafting and implementing user interfaces
• Experience with appealing visuals and thoughtful, extensible code
• Understand how to optimize the delivery of code and assets (e.g., images, fonts) to a browser or device (e.g., lazy loading assets, using CDNs, caching, compression, etc.)

You might also have...

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development and JIRA
• Excellent ability to tackle problems across domains, skills, and technologies
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required to convey technical issues and details to non-technical users
