Summary of Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join the RF Design Engineering team. In this role, you will join the team responsible for developing RF front-end solutions that demonstrate the capabilities of GlobalFoundries RFSOI technologies. The position focuses on the design and enablement of core RF IC building blocks, including switches, antenna tuners, low noise amplifiers, and their associated digital, analog and control circuit blocks.  

Essential responsibilities:

• Design and develop RF switches, antenna tuners and low noise amplifiers and their associated digital, analog and control circuit blocks for 5G FR1/FR3 cellular and Wi‑Fi applications using GlobalFoundries RFSOI technologies
• Perform RF IC schematic design, layout, parasitic extraction, electromagnetic simulations and pre-silicon verification using standard industry software tools
• Design circuits to achieve high manufacturability yield, long term reliability, ruggedness and industry standard ESD performance
• Define and execute detailed characterization and validation test plans to assess silicon performance, establish and demonstrate good correlations between simulation results and measured data
• Develop clear and comprehensive design documentation, including architecture, simulations, and design trade‑offs
• Engage with key customers to communicate technology capabilities, understand their needs and design requirements and translate these into effective reference designs that showcase the strengths of the technology
• Act as a product evangelist, promoting our products through presentations, webinars and industry events clearly articulating GF’s value proposition. Create technical content such as white papers, case studies and technical presentations to support marketing efforts.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Required Qualifications:

• M.S. degree in electrical engineering or related field with minimum 8 years of relevant experience
• B.S. degree in electrical engineering or related field with minimum 11 years of relevant experience
• Prior experience in RFSOI technologies including tapeouts of relevant circuits
• Deep knowledge and demonstrated experience in standard industry CAD tools (Cadence, EMX, ADS etc) and tapeout procedures (corner analysis, DRC and LVS checks etc)
• Knowledge of communications system architecture and RF front-end architecture for cellular and wifi consumer products
• Experience in engaging with large global customers and technology partners, presenting technical features and translating them into benefits for the target application
• Fluency in English Language-written & verbal. Effective communication skills in written, verbal and presentation formats with the ability to engage internal and external senior level experts and stakeholders
• Travel Requirements: up to 10% of travel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or related field with minimum 7 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated production tapeouts of RFSOI switch, tuner or LNA circuits in high volume
• Deep domain expertise in RF front end architecture, specification definition and system design
• Project management skills – i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills

Expected Salary Range

$167,000.00 - $275,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
