A hacker mindset is what led to the creation of Glance in early 2017 when we tinkered with Android source code to be able to display more than just a clock on the lockscreen. The same mindset lets us imagine and build Glance-AI in 2024.
And along the way, we have had to build a product that is globally used by over 300 million people, across several countries, languages, and even hardware capabilities of the devices themselves. There is much more than what meets the eye such has having to make machine learning recommendations in under 20 milliseconds, deliver live video streams over unstable wireless networks, deploy changes to live customers hundreds of times a day, thwart constant cybersecurity threats, while maintaining a very tight footprint of a truly cloud native infrastructure.
We continue to push the frontiers in areas such as computer vision, big data, personalized recommendations, slick user interfaces and super-fast content delivery at our global scale.
What will you be doing?
- Architect and develop robust, scalable backend services and microservices
- Enhance system efficiency, scalability, and stability
- Optimize and fine-tune system performance for peak reliability
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver innovative features
- Mentor engineers and drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Keep our tech stack at the cutting edge (Java proficiency; experience with gRPC, Netty, Istio, Kotlin)
