About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Senior Software Engineer (.NET) to join our Product Engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering scalable, high-performance enterprise applications while driving the modernization of our Retail ERP platform.
This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, and the ability to mentor engineering teams. The candidate will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to build secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade applications using C# and .NET.
  • Drive architecture discussions and provide technical direction for new product initiatives.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services and RESTful APIs.
  • Lead the modernization of legacy applications into modular and domain-oriented services.
  • Design and implement event-driven solutions using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
  • Optimize application performance, database design, and backend processing for high-volume transaction systems.
  • Review code, enforce engineering best practices, and ensure high code quality.
  • Mentor and guide development teams through technical challenges and design decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software.
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, technical reviews, and release planning.
  • Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Drive engineering excellence through automation, CI/CD, coding standards, and continuous improvement.

Required Technical Skills

Core Technologies

  • 10–12 years of hands-on experience in software development using C# and .NET Framework / .NET Core (.NET 6/8 or above).
  • Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
  • Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, SOLID principles, Design Patterns, and Clean Architecture.
  • Strong experience with Entity Framework Core and ORM concepts.
  • Excellent knowledge of asynchronous programming and multithreading.
  • Strong understanding of Dependency Injection, Middleware, and application lifecycle.

Database

  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
  • Expertise in SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience in designing scalable database schemas for enterprise applications.

Architecture & Design

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
    • Layered Architecture
    • Microservices Architecture
    • Event-Driven Architecture
    • API-First Design
    • Distributed Systems fundamentals
    • High Availability and Scalability principles

Messaging & Integration

  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
  • Experience designing asynchronous workflows and event-driven integrations.
  • Knowledge of distributed transaction patterns and eventual consistency.

Cloud & DevOps

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.

Version Control

  • Strong experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design and architecture discussions.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
  • Drive technical excellence across the development team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex enterprise solutions.
  • Support hiring by conducting technical interviews and evaluating engineering talent.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Redis or distributed caching.
  • Experience implementing authentication and authorization using OAuth2/JWT.
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry or application observability tools.
  • Experience with performance tuning for high-volume transactional applications.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and enterprise application security.
  • Exposure to retail, ERP, supply chain, warehouse management, or POS systems is highly desirable.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
