Who you are:

You are a skilled Software Developer with extensive software design and implementation skills. You are skilled in the use of current programming languages and tools and generally act as a team resource on custom development initiatives. You find reward in building robust software that can function 24/7 with no down time. What you'll do:

The Altitude Team by Geotab team is seeking a skilled and passionate Software Developer to contribute to the optimization and enhancement of our frontend and backend products. In this role, you will be a key member of a team dedicated to migrating legacy applications to a modern React front end, adding new features to existing products, and improving the speed and usability of our APIs. You will collaborate closely with product management, UX designers, and other developers to bring innovative solutions to life. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing team, and to make a real impact on a global scale.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Define, design, and implement new software applications in collaboration with other members of the development and technical teams.
  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
  • Perform Test-Driven and Security-Driven Development.
  • Conduct comprehensive code reviews and ensure that coding standards are followed.
  • Analyze call stacks, trace files, debug logs or performance data to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of bugs.
  • Participate in development of prototypes, minimum viable products and PoCs.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization and automation.
  • Perform maintenance programming for existing applications.
  • Ensure the functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and system architecture for each assignment.
  • Provide design documents and documentation to ensure efficient maintenance and code reuse.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements in the overall development process.

 

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 2+ years of experience with Linux, JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, CSS, and HTML.
  • SQL Server and Postgres, Database design, optimization and writing queries.
  • Experience in Python,  ES6, Google Compute Engine, Google BigQuery.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud computing experience with GCP, AWS and/or Azure.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
  • Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Electrical, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Echo Jobs has been exceptional in my job hunt where it provides one platform to job hunt and I don't have to open 10 websites just to look for a job. It has also helped me focus much on the job skill and the location filtering out the onsite jobs and remote ones. The only feature that I would request is to display fully remote jobs that are not restricted to a country since the one available shows ie, Remote, US yet. But if it could show remote only, that would be helpful not only to me but to other people applying for full remote and not tied to only US candidates
