Job Statement

Due to continued growth, Genesis Mining Services (GMS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Asset Management team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual seeking to move beyond a traditional site-based maintenance role and influence asset performance at a strategic level from our modern office in the Perth CBD.

Working closely with site maintenance teams and our centralised Asset Management Team, you will influence equipment strategy, reliability improvement, lifecycle planning, capital investment and long-term fleet performance. Using engineering expertise, operational data and commercial analysis, you will help optimise the performance of our mobile mining fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise mobile fleet asset management and lifecycle strategies
  • Drive reliability improvement initiatives through data analysis, defect elimination and root cause investigations
  • Support capital planning, equipment replacement strategies and asset selection decisions
  • Develop business cases and technical justifications supporting capital investment decisions
  • Contribute to maintenance and asset budgets, forecasting and cost optimisation initiatives
  • Analyse equipment performance and maintenance data to identify opportunities for improved reliability and productivity
  • Collaborate with site maintenance and operational teams to improve asset performance outcomes
  • Utilise CMMS (AMT) data and reporting to support informed engineering and commercial decision-making
  • Provide technical recommendations that enhance long-term fleet performance, availability and value
  • Adhoc site travel will be required to support engagement with our operations and provide practical exposure to our mobile fleet.

About You

  • Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting heavy mobile mining equipment through maintenance, reliability, planning or asset management functions.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Strong interest in strategic asset management, reliability improvement and long-term fleet optimisation
  • Ability to challenge traditional maintenance practices and drive asset performance through data-driven and practical engineering solutions
  • Commercial mindset with understanding of asset lifecycle, maintenance and cost optimisation principles
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Experience with CMMS platforms, including AMT, is desirable

Why Join GMS?

This role provides genuine exposure to strategic engineering and asset management disciplines that extend well beyond day-to-day maintenance. You will contribute directly to equipment selection, capital planning, reliability strategy, lifecycle optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives across our mining operations.

  • Work alongside experienced leaders in asset management, maintenance and mining operations
  • Genuine career pathways in both technical and leadership streams
  • A "grow our own" culture with a preference to develop and promote from within
  • Access to professional development activities and educational assistance
  • Competitive salary, bonus structure and salary sacrifice options
