Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Integration with deep expertise in MuleSoft Platform Administration, Automation, and CI/CD to support and enable General Mills’ digital transformation initiatives.
This role will partner closely with Advanced Digital Transformation teams to transform, simplify, integrate, and manage cloud-based integration services. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational excellence, automation mindset, and the ability to consult on best practices across the MuleSoft ecosystem.
Exposure to Mule Development, GCP, Terraform, Kafka, Cloud Composer (Airflow), and scripting is highly desirable.
Key Accountabilities
Manage and automate MuleSoft Anypoint Platform configurations including API management, security, monitoring, deployments, and governance
Administer and support highly available integration platform infrastructure (IaaS / PaaS)
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive issue resolution
Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft application deployment and rollback
Automate last-mile security certificate management and renewals
Develop self-healing, proactive monitoring and alerting solutions for MuleSoft APIs and applications
Collaborate with development teams to triage production defects and optimize platform performance
Manage support cases and coordinate with users and cross-functional teams
Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and failover strategies for MuleSoft environments
Integrate GitHub with MuleSoft Design Center and automate deployment workflows
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for MuleSoft environments
Participate in 24x7 rotational on-call support (once per month)
Support enterprise integration platforms as part of shared operational responsibility
Minimum Qualifications
Full-time graduation from an accredited university (mandatory)
10+ years of overall IT experience with 8+ years in MuleSoft administration or operations
Strong experience with MuleSoft Runtime Fabric (RTF) and Hybrid Deployment Models
Expertise in:
Mule deployment strategies and clustering
Mule Gateway, MUnit, MuleSoft MMC
Runtime server management and Mule connectors (standard/custom)
Strong hands-on experience with:
Anypoint Platform, CloudHub, RTF, API Management
MuleSoft API Gateway, Anypoint Monitoring, and Security
Solid understanding of API development using the MuleSoft platform
Experience with security implementations (SSL/mutual SSL, OAuth, SAML)
Strong CI/CD experience using GitHub and GitHub Actions
Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience working in Agile environments and modern software engineering practices
Preferred Qualifications
Strong aptitude for learning and passion for problem-solving
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Exposure to Kafka and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as IAM, Apigee, Composer, Compute, and Storage
Knowledge of SOA concepts, REST, SOAP, XML schemas, messaging, and digital certificates
Working knowledge of Python, Shell scripting, or other automation languages
Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure components (networking, storage, compute)
Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Google Cloud Composer / Airflow
Experience managing monitoring and logging tools for performance and incident management
Familiarity with schedulers like Tidal from a platform or infrastructure perspective
