Overview

The next generation UK fast attack submarine (SSNA) engineering team needs Propulsion Plant Electrical Systems Engineers. The SSNA Power Distribution Group has openings for highly motivated engineers to support the development of a new electric plant design for the next class of UK submarines. The group is in the process of assisting in the development of a new cost-effective, power dense, electric plant architecture that utilizes the latest developments in solid state power electronics for power conversion, system protection and coordination.

Responsibilities include supporting development of the SSNA electric plant for the next generation attack submarine. This work includes supporting design/performance/cost/ship trade studies, performing analysis of key components, interface development and reviewing developmental component requirements. The development and use of next generation electric plant models (Matlab/Simulink, etc.) are also needed.
