About the role

Location - Bucharest. Hybrid role, office and work from home. Not fully remote.

As a Senior Web Developer, you will join a distributed team that builds the web presence of Gen brands – focused on cyber security and theft protection products. You'll be responsible to ship high-quality web software in fast-paced agile environment.

What You Will Do in This Role

• Work on day-to-day componentised development enhancements for Norton and Lifelock Acquisition and Retention sites
• Participate in technical design sessions and assess and document the pros and cons of various approaches.
• Participate actively in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, development design, grooming sessions, retrospectives, and demos.
• Engage in peer code design, review, and testing to maintain code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Demonstrate strong debugging and problem-solving skills, both independently and as part of a team.
• Design and build scalable, efficient, and secure web applications using modern web technologies, frameworks, and libraries.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure code quality and consistency.
• Keep up to date with emerging web technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and propose innovative solutions to enhance our web development processes and methodologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to web applications, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to the user experience.
• Self-motivated, adapt to new tech, excel in problem-solving, take ownership, and stay enthusiastic amid challenges.

What You’ll Need to be Successful in this Role

• 5+ years of industry experience in developing web software solutions using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, NPM, Webpack
• Strong focus on frontend development and user-centric design
• Hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, JavaScript ES6, and related tools.
• Willingness to learn AEM and Apache Sling
• Agile/Scrum experience
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and data interchange formats
• Leadership and mentoring abilities for guiding developer teams.
• Proficiency in web debugging and unit testing.
• Comfortable with standards-compliance and cross-browser compatibility.
• Understanding of web performance optimization and page performance optimisation best practices.
• Object-oriented JavaScript programming.
• Familiarity with CSS pre-processors.
• Front-end unit testing knowledge.
• Awareness of ADA standards and common implementation patterns.
• Version control tools expertise, particularly Git.
• Experience in teamwork and code reviews.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with documenting and creating flow charts to explain complex technical solutions.
• Ability to take complex solutions from ideation to completion.

Optional Technical Skills:

• Experience with backend technologies and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails, Java) is a plus.
• Experience with CMS tools like HubSpot, Adobe AEM or any modern CMS is a strong plus.
• Experience with E-commerce websites is a strong plus.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• OR master’s degree in computer science or related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
