IT Project Manager

GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking an IT Project Manager to join our team. This position is full-time and will support the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Schenectady, NY in a hybrid capacity with up to 80% teleworking approved. 

• Support its Information Technology (IT) team as a Project Manager.
• Lead multiple teams and projects associated with enterprise IT and facilities initiatives supporting the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP).
• Work in a technically diverse and dynamic environment with a team of IT professionals responsible for partnering with our facilities teams to support the business.
• Interface with both enterprise IT and facilities support groups to effectively and efficiently communicate and document user needs.
• Establish project scope, schedules, work breakdown structure, planning assumptions, and evaluate requests for scope, budget, or schedule changes.
• Report and provide solutions for project issues affecting work evolutions.
• Responsible for the development of periodic project assessments and communicating status with stakeholders and customers.
• Establish and review project performance metrics and take appropriate actions to correct deviations.

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Must have project management experience.
• Mut have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have strong teaming and interpersonal skills.
• Must have the ability to multitask.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must have experience with Primavera P6 or similar project management software.

• To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued "L" clearance; candidates with an active or very recently active DOE “L” Clearance, DOE “Q” Clearance, DoD “Secret” Clearance, or DoD “Top Secret” Clearance are highly preferred.
• Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Experience with enterprise-level information technology including networking, desktop support, and cybersecurity.
• Experience with, or knowledge of, facilities construction and engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI.
• Certifications like Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and/or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).

The Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory located in Niskayuna, New York, is part of the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) which provides broad support for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in the design, development, improvement, maintenance, training for operation of naval nuclear propulsion plants, and ultimate disposition of the plants (energy.gov).
